We recognise what a big decision choosing a new school is for parents and carers; at KMS we aim to provide as much support as possible in order that you choose the right school for your child and your family. The good news is you've got some fantastic schools to choose from in the local area, it goes without saying that we'd love your final choice to be KMS.
Unlike most schools, at KMS we have two points of entry to our school.
Year 6 - Most pupils join us in Year 6. The key dates for applying for a place in our Year 6 are the same as applying for a primary school place i.e. closing dates for applications in January, National offer day in April.
Year 7 - We also have a second round of applications as part of the secondary school application process. This means if you were unsuccessful in securing a Year 6 place for your child, they may still be able to join us in Year 7. Every year spaces become available at the end of Year 6 and pupils join us in Year 7. Putting KMS as your first choice secondary school place will not effect your second and third choices should. You must apply for a secondary school place by the end of October, the National offer day is in March.
We also welcome 'in year' admissions. Please click here to find out how to apply for a place at our school outside of the main admissions rounds above.
The school holds an annual open evening on the last Thursday in September each year, this event will give you a real flavour of what our special and truly unique school has to offer. At KMS we are 'large enough to specialise, small enough to care'.
Families are also welcome to visit the school at any point during the school year, please contact Mrs Mitchell in the school office to arrange your visit.
